The Overland Park Public Safety Committee on Sept. 10 recommended City Council approval of a bid award and installation agreement with KCOM Inc. for police patrol vehicle outfitting.
Staff reported a single responsive bidder for the equipment bid; the bid tabulation figure shown to the committee was $168,029.29. Committee members then voted to approve the award of the equipment purchase to KCOM Inc. Staff then presented a separate agreement to pay KCOM up to $61,600 for installation of patrol‑vehicle equipment.
Committee discussion was brief and limited to the procurement and installation process; staff described these transactions as ordinary outfitting for patrol vehicles. Both motions were approved (motions and seconds were recorded on the record) and passed unanimously. The recommendations will be forwarded to the City Council for final approval.
The combined amounts for equipment and installation total $229,629.29.
