Jackson staff previews LDR text amendments for nonconformities and string-light use ahead of Oct. 15 meeting

Planning staff told the Town of Jackson Planning and Zoning Commission Aug. 20 that the commission's Oct. 15 meeting will likely include several Land Development Regulations (LDR) text amendments.
Staff said the anticipated amendments would streamline rules regarding nonconforming properties and include changes related to string-light use within town. Staff also listed a development plan on the likely Oct. 15 agenda.
During the meeting planning staff explained the technical reason the Gregory Lane plan was continued: "as part of the town's development planning and subdivision process, even for a lot split, utilities have to be provided or have to be able to be provided to a site," and the applicant had not yet completed those drawings. Staff said the applicant is working on those drawings and staff had been assured they would be ready for the Oct. 15 hearing.
The commission heard the preview during the meeting's staff report and offered no public comment on the subjects at that time. The proposed text amendments were described at a high level; no draft language, ordinances or formal motions on the amendments were presented at the Aug. 20 meeting.
