Grand Prairie kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month with Fiestas Patrias parade and festival

Staff member 2, a City of Grand Prairie staff member, said Grand Prairie will mark Hispanic Heritage Month beginning Sept. 15 with the annual Fiestas Patrias Parade and Festival, launching a month of cultural events across the city.
The city is promoting a schedule of traditional cultural events including music, food and family activities, and directed residents to gptx.org/amoregp for full event information. "Hispanic Heritage Fund is open to celebrate for everybody. We want everybody to feel a part of it," Staff member 2 said.
City materials describe Fiestas Patrias as a national holiday tradition; in Grand Prairie the monthlong observance runs from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. The announcement emphasized inclusive programming and encouraged residents and visitors to attend parade and festival events.
