David Sheldon, a resident who lives near a short stretch of Montgomery, asked Canfield City Council to install a speed limit sign and a "caution children" sign because there is no posted speed limit or children‑at‑play signage on that block.
"I think both should be installed. A speed limit sign and a caution children sign," Sheldon said during public comments. Council members discussed enforcement and cost: they noted a stop sign would be expensive and that a speed limit sign can be enforced by police. The city manager said staff would look into options and public works would be involved in placing signage.
Council did not vote on an ordinance or resolution; members directed staff to review the location and potential sign options and to return with recommendations.
