Township trustee says county will provide Route 11 signs at no cost after residents asked for posting

Marissa Cartwright, a Canton Hill Township trustee and Canfield resident, updated Canfield City Council on a citizen request to post traffic signs along Route 11 and said the county engineer will supply the signs at no cost.
"The trustees explained that they wanted to and would assist them in their endeavor," Cartwright said during public comment. She told council that signs — described in her remarks as a request for a "no break no engine bridal summons" to be posted on Route 11 — had an estimated cost of about $1,800, but that Commissioner Carol Reghetti called to report the county engineer will make the signs and there would be no cost to residents or the township.
Cartwright said the trustees will pass a resolution and then submit it to the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) so the signs can be installed; she expected the township to pass the resolution at its Oct. 14 meeting or at an earlier special meeting. Tracy DeCapua, the township zoning inspector, was credited by Cartwright for coordinating with residents and outlining the procedure.
Council members thanked Cartwright for the update and noted the arrangement as an example of intergovernmental cooperation. No formal action by Canfield City Council on the Route 11 signs was recorded at the meeting; the township will be the body passing the resolution to forward to ODOT.
