AEDC reports balanced 2025 budget projection; council accepts report

Nelson told council the combined projected expenses total about $26.4 million, producing net income in both funds. He said operational expenses of about $2.48 million would leave roughly $900,000 net for operations and the project fund would show about $3 million in net income, leaving AEDC "sitting very well financially."
Council asked a brief question about previously approved monument signage and Nelson said earlier-approved sign dollars remain in the current budget but not specifically budgeted in the coming year; the line could be funded as a project or via marketing with a possible budget amendment later.
Outcome: Council accepted item 3a as presented; a motion to accept passed without recorded opposition.
Why it matters: AEDC's budget governs the agency's economic-development projects and use of sales-tax revenues. The project fund is the primary vehicle for larger development projects paid from the AEDC share of sales tax receipts.
