Bexar County Commissioners Court adopted the county’s FY2025–26 operating and capital budget and approved the 2025 property tax rate during its Sept. 9 meeting, the court said. The court approved a countywide budget totaling about $2.8 billion and set the 2025 tax rate at 0.299999 per $100 valuation.
The court’s budget document shows an ending general fund balance of about $225.7 million. The budget maintains the existing tax rate; because of rising property values the court said average taxpayers will not see an increase in tax owed for existing property values. The court also approved a 3% cost-of-living adjustment for county employees that was added after discussion and a number of work sessions.
