Bond construction enters punch‑list phase; lockers, turf and pathways planned

District construction staff told the board the major wave of active, high-mobility construction sites on campus has subsided for the first time in nearly four years and that work has moved into punch-list and finish phases.
Staff said punch-list work is underway at Beach Elementary and other recently completed projects. Locker bank installation for the high school is expected during winter or spring break depending on delivery timing. The district is working with a flooring vendor to ensure durability in the weight-room floor before installing turf; officials also plan to install a lift to store cheer mats off the floor.
Staff said they are awaiting an environmental review from the state agency (referred to in discussion as “Eagle,” an environment/energy group) on wetland impacts for some sites; that feedback will affect packaging and timing of future work. The district also plans pathway and sidewalk additions on campus to improve pedestrian circulation and reduce students walking in roadway sections where sidewalks are incomplete.
Administrators said they will present several options for prioritizing remaining bond dollars so the board can choose projects that all fit within the available budget. Staff confirmed contractors working around students must complete background checks and that the district seeks to minimize work when students are in buildings where possible.
No formal action was taken; staff requested board input on priorities when final packages are presented later this calendar year.
