The Barry County Board of Commissioners approved its written agenda and, by roll call, accepted the consent agenda and several financial motions at the Aug. 26 meeting.
The consent agenda was approved on a motion by Commissioner Bassett, supported by Commissioner Toonison. The consent agenda included approval of the Aug. 26 meeting minutes, acceptance of $10,000 from 270 Inc. for the county’s trap-neuter-release program, and approval to spend up to $6,000 for repairs to the Podunk Lake dam structure. The clerk recorded unanimous roll-call support.
Commissioner Smelker moved approval of prepaid invoices totaling $3,569,878.44; the motion was supported by Commissioner Getty and approved by roll call. Smelker next moved approval of claims of $89,395.81, supported by Commissioner Campbell; that motion also passed unanimously. Smelker then moved approval of commissioner mileage reimbursements totaling $413; the motion was supported by Commissioner Campbell and approved by roll call.
Each roll call recorded the same eight commissioners voting in the affirmative: Commissioners Bassett, Carlton, Campbell, Getty, Hatfield, Smelker, Toonison and Jackson. No nays, abstentions or recusals were recorded in the roll calls for these items.
The board did not discuss items on the consent agenda when it approved them; commissioners had the opportunity to remove items for separate consideration but made no such requests.
