Votes at a glance: Board approves consent minutes, MASB delegates, personnel report and swing-space preparations

At its public meeting the Southfield Board of Education recorded unanimous votes on a set of business items brought forward as action items.

- Consent agenda (approval of minutes, Aug. 18 special board meeting): Approved by unanimous roll call. Staff introduced the consent agenda and the board secretary called the vote.

- MASB 2025 delegate assembly (Report): The board nominated Trustee Jolene Holloway, Trustee Nicole Denson and Trustee (name listed as Werdewald in the packet) as delegates to the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) 2025 delegate assembly; the board approved the nomination by unanimous roll call.

- Personnel action report (Report 6406): Trustees voted to open and approve Report 6406, the personnel action report. The motion carried by unanimous roll call.

- SRAC and Vandenberg swing-space preparations (Report 64 12): The board opened and approved Report 64 12 to fund preparations of Vandenberg and the Southfield Regional Activity Center as swing-space (total approved $329,834.58, includes contingency). The motion carried by unanimous roll call. District staff noted the funding will come from capital improvements for temporary swing-space work rather than bond replacement funds and that contingency will be rolled back if not used.
