The proclamation, introduced by Commissioner Michael Woodley, said substance use disorders affect individuals, families and communities across Van Buren County and described Recovery Month as a time to celebrate gains made by people in recovery and to promote services and support. The motion to adopt the proclamation was seconded and approved by roll call.
The proclamation urges residents to observe the month with programs and activities that support recovery and asked the community to help create an environment that fosters healing and well‑being. The commission said it would post the proclamation with the meeting minutes online.
