HTMS counselors honored with Alabama School Counseling Program of Distinction award

The Trussville City Schools board recognized Hewitt Trussell Middle School counselors Krista Dement and Caroline Kidd as recipients of the Alabama School Counseling Program of Distinction Award from the Alabama School Counselors Association.
Principal or staff member Jared Meads praised the counselors during the recognition, saying the HTMS counseling team "is by far the best group of counselors I've ever had the pleasure of working with" and that their work "leaves a lasting impact on all of our students." The board and audience applauded the honorees and were invited to take photos following the presentation.
The board's recognition highlights district work to support student mental health and counseling services at HTMS.
