Commission confirms several board appointments, names Kurt Leahy to Codes Enforcement appeals board

Ethics committee: Chairman Harris asked for confirmation of Ted Beatty, Rommel McMurray, Robert P. Craig Harris and Joanne Medlin to the ethics committee; a motion was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Codes Enforcement Adjustments and Appeals Board: Two applicants — Larry Jernigan and Kurt Leahy — were considered for a three-year term with a vacancy effective September 2025. Both candidates addressed commissioners; Leahy described a mechanical and maintenance background, Navy service and a desire to "give back to the community." Commissioners cast individual votes by name; Kurt Leahy received the votes called and was confirmed.
CCRC board: Three applicants were under consideration for the Community Care/CCRC board. Amy Curtis, a registered nurse and former CCRC employee, withdrew her application. After interviews and recommendation, Lois Miller of District 6 was confirmed by voice vote.
Chairman Harris and commissioners recorded the approvals as voice votes for most confirmations; the Codes Enforcement appointment includes explicit commissioner votes recorded in the meeting transcript. The clerk's office will follow up with confirmation letters and notifications to the respective boards.
