Council approves Resolution 2025-17 to support $500,000 CDAP infrastructure grant for Butler Drive

The Thomasville City Council unanimously approved Resolution 2025-17, which authorizes city officials to participate in the state economic development assistance program and, if awarded, to accept $500,000 in CDAP/regional authority funds for Butler Drive infrastructure rehabilitation.

The resolution’s presenter said the $500,000 request had already been submitted and that the resolution affirms the city’s intent to spend the funds if the grant is awarded and authorizes the mayor and clerk to execute necessary documents. “This is a $500,000 request, and, we all know that we've submitted that grant. This needs to go in with, to support the grant, which basically says if we get the money, we're gonna spend it, and you authorize myself and the clerk and others to move forward with the project,” the presenter said.

Motion to approve was made by Councilman Waite and seconded by Councilman Smith; the record shows the vote unanimous. The resolution was presented as a single action item and approved without amendment.
