Irondale City Council approves resolution canvassing Aug. 26 municipal election results

Reading the certified totals into the record, the council recorded 700 votes for Ken Effinger for mayor and 2,271 votes for James D. Stewart Jr. The council also recorded results for five council districts: District 1 — John London, 507 votes; Matt McLean, 141 votes. District 2 — David W. Spivey, 319 votes; Donna Pike, 95 votes. District 3 — Erin Kimberly Arnold, 556 votes; Cindy Cuellar, 509 votes. District 4 — Robert Santa Box, 173 votes; Mary Brashershire, 105 votes. District 5 — Erin Sims, 273 votes; Melanie Harris Colston, 154 votes; Anjanette Birkett Robinson, 64 votes.
Before the totals were finalized, meeting participants noted a single provisional vote to add for James D. Stewart Jr. that was entered under the provisional column and incorporated into his total. The clerk and council confirmed the adjusted totals on the record.
A member moved and a second was recorded for adoption of Resolution 2025 R-159; the council then approved the resolution by voice and roll-call votes. The roll call recorded votes of "yes" from Councilman London, Councilman Box, Councilman Sims and the presiding member; Councilwoman Cuellar was absent from the meeting. The council noted certificates of election may be signed after adjournment.
With no further business, the council moved to adjourn.
