Council names poll workers for Sept. 23 runoff; chief inspector to serve again

The Andalusia City Council on Sept. 2 unanimously approved Resolution 2025-30, appointing the poll workers who will staff the Sept. 23 runoff election.
City Administrator told the council the upcoming runoff will be smaller than the August election but will use many of the same volunteer poll workers. The administrator said Ginny Pitts agreed to serve again as chief inspector and listed inspectors, machine operators and assistant clerks for the two tables.
“We have, an inspector, assistant inspector, machine operators, and assistant clerks rounding out the 2 tables,” the city administrator said, and added that volunteers had agreed to donate much of their time. Councilmember Nicks moved to approve the appointments; the motion was seconded and carried unanimously.
Council members thanked poll workers for their service at the recent election, and the mayor singled out Pitts for special thanks for performing a demanding role. The appointments allow the city to finalize staffing and proceed with preparations for the Sept. 23 runoff.
The council then continued with the regular agenda.
