At its Aug. 29 meeting the Fairhope City Council canvassed and certified the results of the Aug. 26, 2025 municipal election, declaring winners for five council seats and opening provisional ballots to confirm totals.
City Clerk Lisa Hanks read the accepted provisional ballots and the council approved the canvass resolution. Hanks told the council the county board of registrars received 17 provisional ballots and accepted 11 for review. She said the number of accepted provisionals was insufficient to change the outcome of any race.
The resolution declared the following candidates duly elected to council seats with terms beginning Nov. 3, 2025: Jack Burrell (Place 1), Joshua Gammon (Place 2), Jimmy Conyers (Place 3), Jay Robinson (Place 4) and Andrea Faust Booth (Place 5). During the canvass the clerk and council members verified vote totals as read into the record; the clerk provided specific vote totals during the reading.
The council moved and seconded the canvass resolution and voted to adopt it. The roll-call vote tally was not recorded in the meeting transcript; council members voiced approval and no member recorded an opposition on the record.
The council concluded the canvass and closed that agenda item. No further action was recorded on election contests or challenges during the meeting.
