Dothan commission approves contracts, grants and road projects in routine vote package

- Resolution 2025-215 (McGriff Insurance Services, Inc.) accepting a quote for specific stop-loss reinsurance as quoted by Companion Life Insurance Company.
- Resolution 2025-216 (Unum Insurance Company) to provide vision insurance coverage to employees, retirees and dependents at no cost to the city.
- Resolutions renewing agreements with Southern Alabama Regional Council on Aging (SARCOA) for administration of a Title III nutrition transportation program and for senior programs funded from the Houston County Tobacco Tax Fund.

- Contract with Matthew Christa, MD, for medical direction services to the Dothan Fire Department at $12,000 annually for a three-year period (Resolution 2025-221).
- Completion of the Eastgate Boardwalk Renovations contract with Lewis Construction LLC for a total of $168,923.52, which reflects a $73,948.48 deduct due to construction modifications (Resolution 2025-222).
- Agreements with the Alabama Department of Transportation for resurfacing projects: Murphy Mill Road (Bridal Stan Road to Montgomery Highway) estimated at $1,225,707.08 with maximum federal funds of $980,565.66 and estimated city funds of $245,141.42 (Resolution 2025-223), and North Cherokee Avenue resurfacing estimated at $581,074.40 with maximum federal funds $464,859.52 and estimated city funds $116,214.88 (Resolution 2025-224). The commission also initiated an ADOT project to resurface a portion of Webb Bridal (Resolution 2025-225).
- A temporary right-of-entry agreement with CSX Transportation for survey activities at North Range Street for $2,700 (Resolution 2025-226).
- Extension of the timeline with Mythics LLC to Dec. 31, 2025, at no additional cost for Oracle permitting/licensing implementation (Resolution 2025-227).
- Other routine items: disposition of obsolete property, awarding bids and purchases over $30,000, approval of advanced travel requests, and acceptance of a sidewalk easement at 578 Webb Road.
