The Rush Valley Planning and Zoning meeting approved an agricultural building permit for a proposed storage building at 1030 West Highway 199 owned by Richard Lambros and applied for by his son, Josh Lambros.
Applicant Josh Lambros told the board the structure would be used for equipment storage: “It's just for storage and a tractor storage,” and that he would be responsible for the permit fee. Board members reviewed setbacks, lot size and zoning. Members stated the parcel is just over 5 acres and located in an R-5 zoning district; the proposed structure dimensions discussed were 36 by 36 feet and a height the applicant said was “21-some” feet, which board members said would meet applicable height and setback limits as presented. Board staff noted the front setback requirement is 30 feet and indicated the submitted site plan shows approximately 80 feet to one side and 65 feet to the west, and that final measurements and compliance would be confirmed during plan review.
After staff advised the application would be routed for additional review and inspection as needed, member Kyle Russell moved to approve the plans with the setbacks as shown; Scott Hawkins seconded. The motion carried on an affirmative voice vote with no recorded opposition; the board thanked the applicant and closed the item.
The board did not adopt new conditions or amendments to the permit during the meeting. Staff said inspections and final plan review remain a prerequisite to permit issuance.
