Sydney May, president, managing member and principal engineer of SIPI May Engineering, introduced her firm to the commission and described its services and certifications.
May told commissioners the firm is a woman-owned, SBA-certified small business offering civil and environmental professional services including environmental site assessments, groundwater monitoring for landfills, compliance documents for the Alabama Department of Environmental Management and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, civil site design, and transportation and utility infrastructure work. She said the firm had an office in Birmingham and had completed work for Montgomery Public Schools in partnership with a local architectural firm.
May provided booklets summarizing the company's mission, staff and highlighted projects and said the firm is registered locally with a business license. Commission staff offered to connect May with procurement staff to ensure SIPI May Engineering is on the county's vendor list.
"I am the president, managing member, and principal engineer of SIPI May Engineering," May told the commission during her comments.
No procurement decisions were taken at the session; staff said they would assist the firm in registering as a county vendor.
