Chippewa County staff announced that the county website will be redesigned and the agenda/minutes management software replaced to improve public access and internal workflows.
A county staff presenter said the redesigned website is targeted to go live on October 30 and that the new agenda/minutes software is scheduled for implementation in November. The presenter and other staff noted the vendor for the agenda system is the same company providing the new website, which should allow tighter integration between online meeting hosting and agenda navigation.
Staff said the new site will standardize menus, alphabetize content where useful, and provide a more mobile‑friendly experience. Training for county clerks and meeting staff is planned in late October and into November; the presenter said the first meeting to use the new agenda software will be the economic development meeting, followed by budget hearings.
Supervisors discussed accessibility of agenda packets and links. Staff demonstrated the existing portal's interactive view (click the meeting date rather than the packet link) to navigate directly to a specific agenda item or document without scrolling through large PDFs. Supervisors asked whether GIS content and interactive maps would be mobile friendly; staff said the county's GIS application is a separate system and would remain unchanged.
The presenter recommended staff offer group and one‑on‑one training for supervisors and clerks and said bookmarked, item‑level links will be available for public access. The board did not take formal action; staff will proceed with implementation and training plans.
