The City Council accepted the San Jose Municipal Water System 2025 public health goals report on Sept. 9.
Public comment raised concern about detected contaminants, including uranium levels noted in testing, and asked the city to pursue any feasible measures to improve drinking water quality and public transparency. Utilities staff were on hand to answer technical questions; no new actions or budget requests were taken at the meeting.
Councilmember O'Koumeh moved acceptance of the report and the council approved the motion unanimously. Staff said they would continue monitoring water quality, pursuing compliance and reporting results to the public.
