District to roll out Jump Rope gradebook, refresh devices and expand digital specialists

District technology staff and instructional leaders told the committee the district will launch Jump Rope, a standards‑aligned grading and family-facing platform, in pre‑K through grade 8 and at Salem Prep High School this fall.
IT reported a planned Chromebook replacement cycle that places new devices in grades 2 and 3 and for incoming sixth- and ninth-graders. Interactive displays were installed at Carleton and Salem Prep to replace aging short‑throw projectors, and the iPad inventory for special education was being refreshed.
The district also said Collins Middle School will shift back to a one-to-one Chromebook model after a recent cart-based approach; library and digital-learning specialists will be added at every school except Carleton this year as part of a phased rollout. Training and professional-learning tracking platforms in the PowerSchool family were launched over the summer to support teacher evaluation and professional development.
