Pendergrass fall festival and car show to include vendors and limited alcohol area; city says police will support event

Pendergrass City staff told the council on Sept. 9 that the city—s fall festival is moving forward with vendors and a weekend car show.
"As of Friday, we had 35 for sure, and we probably have another 10 emails since then," said Renee, the event coordinator, describing vendor interest. She said organizers have enough physical space for additional vendors and aim to accept as many qualified applicants as the layout allows.
The council heard that the car show will include food vendors and a beverage service arranged by a third-party vendor. Alcohol sales will be restricted to a designated area; event organizers described single-cup purchases and controls intended to prevent patrons from taking multiple containers outside the fenced beverage zone. City staff said the police department is "on board" with traffic and safety plans for the events.
Why this matters: The festival and car show are city-sanctioned events that draw residents downtown and require public-safety planning, vendor permitting and temporary traffic adjustments.
City staff said they continue to accept vendor applications and will finalize the event site layout and vendor list in the weeks before the festival. No fee or permit changes were proposed at the work session, and officials did not set a final vendor count at the meeting.
