Council members suggested the city hold a focused work session on emergency preparedness and flood response to review findings and identify improvements to drainage maintenance, detention facilities and coordination with canal companies and neighboring jurisdictions. Staff said the same teams are also addressing related state sanitary surveys and MS4 audits, and recommended collating facts before a public work session.
Next steps: Staff was asked to compile findings and propose a work‑session date. The council suggested a Saturday morning meeting or a special session to give elected officials a briefing and to consider short‑ and long‑term measures.
