The Clinton City Council on Sept. 9 took the first reading of an ordinance to convey a 16.5-foot-by-60-foot portion of the north–south alley in Block 7 of Elijah Buell’s Addition, adjoining the south 10 feet of Lot 12 and all of Lot 13, described in the plat on file with the city clerk.
Council member Kearns presented the ordinance for first consideration and asked the clerk to read the title. The measure received a motion and a second and passed first reading on a unanimous roll-call vote.
Why it matters: The ordinance formalizes conveyance of a narrow alley segment to an adjoining property interest as described in the city’s plat materials on file with the clerk. The council did not discuss substantive changes to the legal description during the item and no public comment was recorded on this item.
What’s next: As a first reading, the ordinance will return to the council for subsequent consideration consistent with the council’s ordinance-adoption process.
