Flagstaff library promotes card sign‑up program; students announce school‑based cultural bazaars and powwow

"This month for library card sign up month, we are doing library card punch cards, which require three things. It's to get a library card, then check out a book, and read the book," Mason said. She said the library has more than 50,000 active cardholders across county libraries — roughly 30% of the county’s legal service population — and described business‑participation maps that let cardholders present a card at participating local businesses for discounts or small offers. The library staff will leave printed maps with supervisors and post program details at branch locations.
Student announcements Ashlyn Arnold, president of the Native American Club at Flagstaff High School, gave dates for the club’s upcoming craft bazaars and an annual powwow. Arnold said the fall bazaar will be Sept. 27, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., at Flagstaff High, with a Christmas bazaar scheduled for Dec. 13 and a Valentine’s bazaar on Feb. 7; she also announced the club’s powwow scheduled for mid‑April (dates given by the speaker: April 17–18 or April 18, per remark). Arnold said food concessions and craft booths will be part of the events.
