Stuart Starry, a planner for the City of McKinney, told the commission: "Staff recommends that this item be tabled and public hearing continue to the September 23 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting due to the required notification signs not being posted." The item would have considered rezoning the subject property from one PD (planned development) to another PD to allow single‑family attached residential uses.
The applicant was not present at the meeting, and no members of the public came forward to speak on the matter. Commissioner Gina moved to table and continue the public hearing; Commissioner Jesse seconded the motion. The commission recorded a 7‑0 vote to table the item.
By tabling the case, the commission left the public hearing open and set the matter to return to the Sept. 23 Planning and Zoning Commission agenda, giving staff and the applicant time to meet the notification requirements cited by staff.
The action does not change zoning; it only postpones the public hearing and decision until the commission reconvenes on the scheduled continuation date.
