The Choctaw County Commission voted June 10 to award financing for new county dump trucks to First US Bank at an interest rate of 4.11 percent, following a recommendation from the county engineer.
County Engineer (unnamed) told the commission the county sought financing quotes and that First US Bank offered the lowest rate. “We’re looking for good delivery sometime in the next 60 days,” the county engineer said, recommending the county proceed with financing through the bank.
Commissioner Jackson moved to award the financing to First US Bank; Commissioner Dahlgren seconded the motion. Commissioners voted in favor; the motion carried. The engineer said the paperwork will be prepared by county staff.
The engineer said the recommendation covered financing for “5 dump trucks and 1 local,” as stated in the meeting record; the transcript did not further specify the meaning of “1 local.” The commission did not record a dollar amount for the financed purchase in the public remarks at this meeting.
County staff were directed to prepare the necessary financing paperwork for the awarded lender and to follow up with delivery scheduling.
