Board adopts Kings County final budget for fiscal year 2025–26 totaling about $519 million

The Kings County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday adopted the county’s final fiscal year 2025–26 budget.
Deputy County Administrative Officer Matthew Boya presented the formal resolution that finalized appropriations and financing as previously presented at the Aug. 25 final budget hearings. Boya said the resolution mirrors the budget presented at the August hearing.
Boya reported total appropriations of government funds of $518,749,966, total financing of $520,144,384, and appropriations for contingencies of $37,222,614. After no public comment on the item, the board voted to adopt the resolution.
Why it matters: The budget authorizes county departments’ spending and contingency reserves for the coming fiscal year and finalizes the financial plan the board reviewed during the public hearings.
