Greenwood board approves $34,405 amendment for Cherry Tree Trail wetlands work

The Greenwood Parks and Recreation Board on Sept. 9 approved an amendment to a service agreement with Hitchcock Design Group not to exceed $34,405 to fund wetland surveying and any consequent hydraulic modeling related to the Cherry Tree Trail.
Board attorney Terry told the board the work covers the corridor “from Consinger to Honey Creek” and described the sequence: a wetland survey summary could trigger a full wetland report, which in turn “may trigger hydraulic modeling and then therefore that may trigger a floodway effect.”
The board voted to approve the amendment after a motion by Board Member Crooks and a second by Board Member Deacrick. No public comments were recorded on the item.
The amendment is limited to the initial services described; Terry said the contract can be drafted to outline subsequent tasks if the survey findings require additional modeling or floodway analysis. The board did not specify external funding sources or a schedule for the additional work during the meeting.
Board members approved the amendment by voice vote; the board chair confirmed the motion passed.
