Brad Meltzer asked whether rummage-sale signs are allowed in the right-of-way; staff said they are not and must be placed on private property. Alder Schultz asked whether the 20% maximum sign-area limit on skywalk walls is cumulative across all signs; staff said the municipal code contains further detail and agreed to verify language and consider adding the word “cumulative” for clarity.
The committee voted in favor; the motion and second were recorded and the item passed 5–0. Staff noted the Planning Commission will receive the related sign update at its upcoming meeting so the two policies correlate.
