Council keeps Valencia Public Improvement District assessment rate at 18¢ per $100 for 2025

The Lubbock City Council held a public hearing and approved maintaining the assessment rate for the Valencia Public Improvement District at 18 cents per $100 valuation for calendar year 2026.
Brianna Brown, the city’s business development director, told the council the Valencia PID had not requested a change to its assessment rate and that the staff recommendation was to approve the existing rate. Brown also said that an earlier public-notice error required the council to take up the Valencia PID assessment separately at this meeting.
No members of the public spoke during the hearing. After closing the public hearing, the council approved the staff recommendation unanimously.
