The Oakland Park Community Redevelopment Agency on a unanimous roll-call vote adopted a tentative budget for fiscal year 2026, the board announced after a public hearing with no members of the public speaking.
Andrew Thompson, assistant city manager, told the board the CRA’s revenue mix is led by a transfer from the general fund — “about $570,000 worth” — plus roughly $47,000 in rental income and the planned use of about $300,000 of fund balance to pay for one-time items in the coming year. Thompson said the total CRA fiscal-year budget is “a little bit over $900,000,” and noted the budget includes $80,000 for various incentive grants and an additional $60,000 in the larger city budget for Qualified Census Tract programming.
Thompson also described a budgetary request for a Placer AI system, which he said would let staff analyze business and economic data by ZIP and geographic area to support economic development work and be available for citywide use.
The board opened a public hearing on the tentative budget and, seeing no speakers, closed the hearing before a motion to adopt the resolution approving the tentative FY 2026 CRA budget. The motion and a second were recorded; the city clerk conducted a roll-call vote with Board member Newbold, Board member Budhu, Vice Chair Arndt, Board member Gordon and Chair Lonergan all voting yes. The board then moved on to the consent agenda, which included adoption of minutes; that motion also passed on a roll-call vote.
