Magistrate finds Yulee property in violation, imposes $150 daily fine until compliance

A Nassau County special magistrate found the property at 85067 Amanda Court in Yulee in violation of county health-and-safety codes and ordered a $150-per-day fine until the owner achieves compliance. The magistrate also set a compliance date of Oct. 13, 2025, and scheduled a fine-assessment hearing for Oct. 14, 2025.
The county presented evidence that it received a complaint on Feb. 21, 2025, alleging trash, litter, debris and sewage dumping at the Amanda Court property. Code Enforcement Officer Travis Taylor testified that the county issued notices, posted the property multiple times and revised the case to add a second violation for an unserviceable vehicle; inspectors later found the vehicle removed but the trash and debris remained.
Officer Taylor told the magistrate that “In 09/05/2025, Irene inspected the property and found the unserviceable vehicle to be removed from the property, but the trash litter and debris still remained on the property.” The county requested an order finding a violation, daily fines of $150 until compliance and a fine-assessment hearing to determine abatement costs.
After hearing the county’s evidence, the special magistrate said, "I will find that there is competent and substantial evidence to support finding the property in violation. I will impose a $150 daily fine, set a compliance date for 10/13/2025, and a fine assessment hearing for October 14," and entered an order consistent with that oral pronouncement.
The property is listed in the case record as owned by the estate of Charles F. Wilder III. The county filed photographs, notices of violation and proof of mailing and posting into the record. The magistrate’s order and the county’s written findings will follow in the formal written order to be entered in the case file.
No members of the public or attorney representatives appeared at the hearing on behalf of the property owner; Officer Taylor said there had been prior communication and that the owner is currently in rehabilitation and communicating through a case specialist.
A fine-assessment hearing is scheduled for Oct. 14, 2025, to determine any additional costs the county may assess if abatement or other county action occurs.
