County approves sale of 10-acre Cedar Lane parcel for $150,001

Hernando County commissioners voted 5-0 on Sept. 9 to accept a $150,001 purchase offer for a 10-acre county-owned parcel on Cedar Lane.
Staff said the parcel had been on the market for an extended period and that prior offers had fallen through because of site conditions and access limitations. County realtor Robert Buckner told the board that interest had been limited and that another potential buyer had viewed the property but not submitted an offer.
The board authorized county staff and the county attorney to complete closing paperwork and execute the sale. Staff said the sale will return the parcel to the property tax rolls rather than retain the undeveloped lot in county ownership.
Vote: Motion to accept the purchase offer was made by Commissioner Hamzler and seconded by Commissioner Campbell; vote 5-0.
Next steps: County staff will prepare sale documents and complete the transaction per county policy; any recorded conditions will be reflected in closing conveyances.
