Lyon County Planning Commission elects new chair and vice chair; adopts agenda and minutes, reschedules November meeting

Commissioner Audrey Allen nominated Vice Chair Shannon Sarasola to serve as chair for the remainder of the term; the motion was seconded by Mark Jones. Sarasola abstained from the vote and the motion passed 5-0-1, with one abstention recorded. Later, Commissioner Wendy Loomis moved to appoint Mark Jones as vice chair; the motion was seconded by Loretta Sal and passed by a roll call recorded in the meeting as 5-1-1.
The commission also adopted the meeting agenda by voice vote (6-0-0) and approved the minutes provided in the meeting packet. The minutes approval motion was made by Commissioner Munoz and seconded by Loretta Sal; the minutes passed 5-0-1 (the transcript notes Commissioner Jones was not present for that vote).
Separately, commissioners considered the regular November meeting date, which falls on Veterans Day (Nov. 11). Dan Hansen of the Community Development staff presented options and commissioners agreed to move the Nov. 11 meeting to Monday, Nov. 10; a motion by Loretta Sal, seconded by Wendy Loomis, passed 6-0-0.
