County approves new three-year Esri GIS agreement at $30,200 per year

The Koochiching County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 9 approved a new three-year agreement with Esri for the county’s geographic-information-system (GIS) software. Information-systems staff said the current three-year agreement expires in January and the proposed contract would cost $30,200 per year, up from $27,500 under the expiring agreement.
Staff confirmed the Esri suite covers county mapping functions used by multiple offices, including the assessor’s office and other users of GIS mapping tools. Commissioners asked whether the contract is a multi-year commitment; staff clarified the cost is $30,200 annually for the next three years and payments are made annually.
Commissioner McIntyre moved approval and Commissioner Oech seconded. The board approved the agreement on a voice vote with no recorded opposition.
