Chehalis council approves consent calendar; proclaims September National Preparedness Month, schedules special meetings

At its Sept. 8 meeting the Chehalis City Council approved the consent calendar, which included: minutes of the Aug. 11 regular meeting (item 6); accounts-payable vouchers and transfers of $506,966.09 (item 7); and payroll vouchers and transfers (item 8) listed in the meeting packet. The motion to approve the consent calendar was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote.
Earlier in the meeting Mayor Pro Tem Kate McDougall read a proclamation designating September as National Preparedness Month in Chehalis and urged residents to prepare for upcoming winter weather and sign up for Lewis County emergency alerts. The proclamation was read into the record and dated by the mayor pro tem.
Council members announced special meetings: a special council meeting for annexation matters scheduled for Sept. 15 and a budget workshop scheduled for Sept. 17 from 4 p.m. to about 8 p.m. The Sept. 22 meeting will be the next regular council meeting.
