The compromise was described in the meeting as part of a larger process involving about 30 counties; supervisors were told five counties will follow a separate settlement path. Board members said the approval is an initial step that will allow the larger juvenile-detention board to move forward and address outstanding 28E documentation issues.
Supervisors discussed having a special meeting and consulting additional local contacts before finalizing details for related cooperative agreements. After the phone briefing and brief discussion on the record, Derby moved to approve the resolution; Genssel seconded. The board chair called for the ayes and recorded the motion as passed.
