The Bellflower City Council announced Sept. 8 that applications are open for the Bellflower Leadership Experience and Development program — known as LEAD — which places high school students with parks and recreation staff to gain work experience and leadership skills.
Council member Victor Sanchez described the program as an opportunity for students to obtain real-world experience and life skills while assisting city parks and recreation operations. Applications will be accepted through Sept. 22, 2025. The council recorded a phone number for more information: (562) 804-1424, extension 2268.
No stipend, enrollment limits or selection criteria were provided during the announcement; the council directed interested students to the contact number for further details.
