County staff read an email update from Chris Dietz stating that easements for the collapse-opening piece are signed and that the county is waiting on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers approval and on a contractor’s commitment to a schedule.
“The last contractor contact...said he could have the work done before September,” Dietz’s email said, according to staff. County staff noted the borough has withheld some bond funds pending verification that the detention facility is operating as intended; engineers were conducting on-site infiltration testing to confirm performance.
Why it matters: The project affects a residential area where erosion has damaged property and where the potential for sewer impacts and public-safety hazards was raised. Staff said short-term stabilization is the immediate priority while longer watershed-level work is planned.
