The Troy School District Board of Education adopted a resolution accepting gifts to the district and expressing thanks to donors. District administrators said the month’s monetary donations totaled $17,486.37 and the fiscal-year-to-date total was $46,980.47.
Administrators described several in-kind contributions, including dozens of donated backpacks and school supplies that staff packaged into bags for elementary principals to distribute to students in need; administrators estimated roughly 100 new backpacks were collected. Monetary donations ranged from small contributions to a $6,000 gift to the high-school orchestra.
The board approved the resolution by voice and roll-call; staff thanked community partners and volunteer groups for the donations.
