The City of Wauwatosa Plan Commission unanimously recommended approval Sept. 8 of a conditional use permit for an eating establishment at 6108 West Bluemound Road.
Planning staff described the proposal as a deli/kitchen display with an indoor deli counter and outdoor sidewalk seating on the south end of the space. The property formerly housed Daddy’s on Bluemound; the applicant, Amberly Childs of PlantJoy LLC, told the commission she took over the lease and has been working on build‑out. Staff said the required public hearing was held July 22 and the applicant had spoken at that hearing.
Childs told the commission the outdoor seating will be on the sidewalk at the south end of the building, not in the parking lot behind the property, and she noted a typographical error in the packet that wrongly identified the outdoor seating location as the north end. She said community members “have been popping in, giving lots of feedback” during the build‑out and added, “We’re really excited to, be operating.”
Commissioners asked a few operational questions, including whether merchandise sales were planned; Childs said they were. Commissioner Alder First moved approval per staff recommendations and Commissioner Ousman seconded. The commission chair called the vote; it passed unanimously.
Planning staff told the applicant the Common Council would consider the matter on Sept. 30; staff said attendance by the applicant was optional but permitted.
No other conditions beyond the staff recommendation were recorded during the meeting.
