Adams County awards multiple EWP and road contracts to Midway Construction; pays Robins Lake contractor

Staff reported that Midway Construction completed the Robins Lake project and submitted the invoice. The board accepted the project and approved payment of $210,000 to Midway Construction for construction work, and separately approved $15,120 in engineering fees associated with the project. Following acceptance, the board directed staff to issue a letter to the contractor documenting project acceptance and to copy funding partners.
The county also reviewed bids for EWP projects and recommended multiple awards to Midway Construction. For PWP6045 (listed in materials as 080 Highway 81 / Dunmore Bayou / Kingston Road), Midway was the low bidder at $643,300; the board authorized awarding the project to Midway and authorized the board president to sign the contract once bonds and procurement reviews were complete. For EWP C079 (Equipment Road and Kingston Road), Midway was the low bidder at $130,625; the board likewise recommended awarding the project and authorized contract signature by the board president after administrative completion.
Staff said the county will order long-lead materials—or certain EWP sites to avoid schedule delays once projects receive final federal/state approvals. The board also authorized the county to execute pre-award documents for 13 Johnson Circle so the project can fall within the funder—iscal year, and approved a request to seek a deadline extension on a separate Kingston Road EWP so project design can be completed before construction.
Supervisors moved and seconded the motions; the board carried the actions by voice vote and authorized staff to proceed with contract execution and material procurement where noted.
