Castle Rock board approves minutes, elects officers for 2025–26 term

The Town of Castle Rock Board of Building Appeals approved minutes from its March 3 and June 2, 2025, meetings and elected leadership for the 2025–26 term during a brief session on Sept. 8.
The board unanimously approved the March 3 minutes after a motion by Board Member Pappas and a second by Board Member Akaya. The June 2 minutes were also approved without change; the motion and second were recorded in the meeting but the transcript did not name the mover or seconder. Both votes were recorded as 4–0.
Board members then took nominations for the 2025–26 chair and vice chair positions. Board Member Pappas nominated the incumbent chair, Bob Binder. After a roll-call vote Binder indicated he would abstain, stating, "I think I need to abstain." The nomination for chair passed by a vote of 3–0 with one abstention; the transcript records the tally as 3 to 0. Richard Self was nominated for vice chair and was elected by a vote of 4–0.
