Carson City commissioners revisit plan to memorialize Virginia & Truckee engine house

The issue resurfaced during the commission’s meeting when Commissioner Sam Flake reviewed the engine house’s history, said the structure was torn down in 1991, and described two partial arches the city has retained since then. “What I wanted to talk about today was what happened to the most recent discussion because it kinda died quietly,” Flake said, adding he produced a large public drawing showing a possible partial façade and interpretive approach.
