The Richland Hearing Examiner continued the open‑record hearing on the Villages at Clearwater Creek preliminary plat to the October docket after the applicant requested more time to work out outstanding items with the Kennewick Irrigation District.
Planning Manager Mike Stevens told the examiner the developer requested a continuance to allow negotiations with the irrigation district over suggested conditions of approval. The applicant had submitted a written continuance request via Megan Norris of Hayden Homes; Brian Thorson of Hayden Homes had been present at the prior hearing but no applicant representative attended the continuation hearing in person.
Hearing Examiner Gary McLean asked if any members of the public had come to comment; no one present asked to speak on the Villages preliminary plat. McLean formally continued the matter to the October hearing examiner meeting and asked the applicant to notify staff if they were not ready at that time.
No substantive action on the plat was taken at the session; the continuation preserves any rights to return with additional information at the future hearing.
