At the Aug. 25 meeting the Shakopee Public School District personnel committee summarized its Aug. 11 evaluation of the superintendent and reported that committee members praised the superintendent’s performance and steady leadership.
"Overall, Doctor Redmond is recognized as a capable and mission driven leader with opportunities to build on his successes and further strengthen relationships throughout the district," the personnel committee wrote in a summary the board discussed. The committee said it reviewed measurement elements and encouraged ongoing work to reach the board’s established goals.
Several board members echoed the committee’s assessment during committee reports. One board member said the district is fortunate to have steady leadership and noted the importance of integrity in district management. Superintendent Dr. Redmond addressed the board and described his commitment to the district, saying he enjoys coming to work and that the district serves nearly 8,000 students and their families.
The committee’s summary and board comments were presented as informational; no personnel actions or contract changes were taken at the meeting.
The board also discussed committee meeting schedules, upcoming negotiations and school start activities during committee reports, but did not take formal votes on those items at this session.
