The Shakopee Public School District board on Aug. 25 approved its meeting agenda, cleared the consent agenda and unanimously accepted a package of donations that the district said included more than $156,000 in equipment from AIR Science.
Board members approved the agenda and the consent agenda at the start of the meeting. The board later took a separate roll-call vote to accept donations listed on the agenda, with the chair calling for a roll and Tiffany Olsen, the district’s director of communications and strategic development, conducting the roll call.
Joe Mitchell, who spoke during discussion of the donations, highlighted the contribution from AIR Science and thanked donors. “AIR Science donated over a $156,000 worth of value to the school district,” Mitchell said, adding that most of that contribution went to the high school.
Board member Aldridge moved to approve the donations; Peterson seconded the motion. Olsen announced the roll call: Umziddick, Valdez, Peterson, Smith, Aldridge, Johnson and Brophy voted yes and the resolution passed.
The donations package covered multiple entries on the district checklist that was provided to board members in advance; the district did not specify in the meeting record a line‑item breakdown beyond the AIR Science equipment estimated value.

The board did not discuss a specific spending plan for the AIR Science equipment during the meeting; district staff or school administrators would handle placement and use of donated materials under existing district procedures.
The meeting also included other agenda items and reports that the board heard without formal votes. The donations vote was the primary formal action specifically involving outside funding at the Aug. 25 meeting.
